Financial Services Institute Hires Capitol Hill Veteran, Chris Paulitz, to Head Communications, Media Relations

E-mail

The Financial Services Institute (FSI) today (6/9/11) announced the continued expansion of its executive team with the hiring of Capitol Hill veteran Chris Paulitz as Director of Communications and Media Relations.

“FSI has made great strides advocating for our members in Washington and in the states,” FSI President & CEO Dale Brown said. “As we work to have an even greater advocacy impact for our members, we must raise the level of our messaging and communications. Bringing Chris on board will help us expand our capacity and deepen our influence.”

For the last two years, Paulitz has served as Senior Vice President of Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs for the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI), leading the association’s highly successful rebranding effort.

Prior to IRI, Paulitz spent more than a decade on Capitol Hill and in presidential and congressional campaigns, working as a spokesman and strategic advisor for both House and Senate leadership offices, the Republican National Committee (RNC), the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and the Bush administration. After directing the communications department for U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Paulitz ended his public service as Senior Advisor to former U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich of Ohio.

“This is both a critical and exciting time to be joining FSI,” Paulitz said. “In this time of economic uncertainty, hard-working Americans need unbiased, independent financial advice now more than ever. Advocating for a responsible regulatory environment for the independent broker-dealer and independent financial advisor community helps ensure that affordable advice is available for years to come.”
