President Obama is losing a golf partner.

Ben Finkenbinder, a longtime press aide and a favorite golfing buddy of the president's, is leaving the White House to work on the president's reelection campaign.

He is moving to Chicago where he first started working for Obama, collecting clips for the campaign in 2007, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer confirmed the news Monday morning, tweeting that Finkenbinder is leaving the White House.

Finkenbinder, or "Fink" as he is known to the press he shepherds, has traveled all over the country and the world with the president. He is often listed in the president's foursome during Obama's weekend golf outings.
