Cindy McCain, wife of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) posed for a photo for the “NOH8” campaign Wednesday. The “NOH8” campaign is a pro-gay marriage campaign.

The Telegraph reported that Mrs. McCain called the campaign and expressed her wishes to pose for a photo. The group gets its name from their opposition of Proposition 8, which is a measure passed in 2008 by Californian voters that bans gay marriage.

The senator’s office said in a statement that while he respects his wife and daughter’s views, he is against gay marriage.
