D.C.’s own Jose Andres, who owns several restaurants in the area, including "Oyamel" and "Jaleo," made an appearance on NBC’S The Today Show Tuesday morning.

Andres was on a cooking segment the show occasionally airs. Along with Meredith Vieira and Al Roker, Andres made the “Andres family macaroni and cheese,” with the special ingredient of Greek yogurt. Vieira tried to no avail to “sound like a Spaniard” when pronouncing Andres’ name, joking with him and repeatedly saying “Jose!”

Andres mentioned that his macaroni and cheese is a healthy alternative to the traditional dish, particularly in light of First Lady Michelle Obama’s scheduled unveiling of her childhood obesity campaign on Tuesday afternoon.
