Sarah Palin's enemy moves in next door

One of Sarah Palin's most vocal critics has rented the house next door to hers in Wasilla, Alaska.

Joe McGinniss, the novelist who penned a scathing cover profile of Palin in "Portfolio" magazine in April 2009 (with this photo in it), is working on a book tentatively titled "Sarah Palin's Year of Living Dangerously," for publication in 2011.

On Tuesday Palin used her Facebook page to offer her new neighbor a big Alaska "welcome." As in, frosty.

Titled "Welcome, Neighbor!" Palin's tongue-in-cheek post includes ideas like making "homemade blueberry pie tomorrow so he’ll know how friendly Alaskans are."

Palin says she was planning to take her infant son Trig out in a toddler backpack for a "lawn-mowing adventure" when she noticed McGinniss "15 feet" away from her "kitchen window."

She writes, "Needless to say, our outdoor adventure ended quickly after Todd went to introduce himself to the stranger who was peering in..."

McGinniss told Todd Palin that he'd be living next door to the Palins for five months while he wrote a book about Sarah.  "We’re sure to have a doozey to look forward to with this treasure he’s penning," Sarah Palin quipped in the post. "Wonder what kind of material he’ll gather while overlooking Piper’s bedroom, my little garden, and the family’s swimming hole?"

Palin has been on the road for much of the spring giving speeches and attending campaign rallies for conservative candidates, but reportedly plans to spend more time in Alaska this summer. 

According to her post, Palin's first order of business may be a home-improvement project:  "You know what they say about 'fences make for good neighbors?' Well, we’ll get started on that tall fence tomorrow."
