Professional sports leagues should be more conscious of skyrocketing ticket prices, President Barack Obama said Tuesday night.

Obama said that the NBA and other sports leagues should think more about ways to make games more affordable for average individuals and families.

"I think that ticket prices have gotten so high -- and I understand that salaries are high, ticket prices are high," the president said of NBA ticket prices during a halftime interview on TNT. "But you hate to think that the only person that can go to a game has got a corporate account."

"And that's something I'd love all professional sports to be thinking about a little more," Obama added.

The remarks came in response to a question about what Obama would do if he were commissioner of the NBA.
