Vegan Kucinich may eat a hamburger

There's only one thing that would make longtime vegan Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) eat meat. It's not health, or hunger. It's soccer.

Following the U.S. soccer team's tie against Slovenia on Friday, Kucinich received numerous constituent complaints on his Facebook page about a questionable offsides penalty call made against US player Maurice Edu near the end of the game.

The penalty, which resulted in the reversal of what would have been a winning U.S. goal, was criticized by sports analysts worldwide as inaccurate.

Kucinich (shown here with his wife Elizabeth) agreed with the complaints. So much so, in fact, that he threw down the gauntlet, writing, "Robert and others who wrote in to complain about the World Cup - - If Edu was offsides then I'll eat a hamburger."

Kucinich hasn't eaten a hamburger since 1995, when he adopted a fully vegan lifestyle in order to combat Crohn's disease.
