'We, the Pizza' delays opening

Former "Top Chef" contestant Spike Mendelsohn announced Friday that his highly anticipated new pizza joint, "We, the Pizza," will open a few days later than expected, on  Monday, July 19th. The opening had initially been slated for Wednesday July 14.

In a statement Mendelsohn said, "As is typical with restaurants openings, we need just a bit more time to make sure we give the people what they want: great tasting pizza, homemade italian sodas, gelati and we're even unveiling a "We, The Pizza" beer. Plus my friends, family and I are finalizing the best music playlist possible..and that takes time!"

"We, the Pizza" is located next door to Mendelsohn's popular Capitol Hill burger joint "Good Stuff Eatery."
