After tiff with media critic, Grayson says he received death threat

 “The caller told our receptionist - a young intern - that ‘10 people are going to kill the Congressman within 24 hours.’ We gave the information to the Capitol Police; they are investigating,” the e-mail newsletter reads.
 
A spokeswoman with the U.S. Capitol Police confirmed to The Hill on Thursday that it is investigating the matter.
 
The alleged threat comes a day after media critic and vice president of the Media Research Center Dan Gainor tweeted that he would give $100 to the first House lawmaker “who punches smary [sic] idiot Alan Grayson in nose.”
 
Grayson shot back at Gainor later on Tuesday night, saying that he was prepared to trade blows with anyone willing to take a swing at him.
 
“I just want to let him know that I’d punch back. You should see my reach,” Grayson told MSNBC’s Ed Schultz.
 
Gainor also called Grayson a “caricature of a congressman” following remarks that Grayson made on the House floor criticizing Republicans for their stance on unemployment benefits.
 
In Thursday’s e-mail Grayson added on to his earlier criticism of Republicans, saying that the death threat and Gainor’s challenge arose, “Because I told the truth; the truth that by stalling on unemployment insurance, right-wingers revealed themselves to be heartless, selfish wretches, who have been taking food out of the mouths of children.”
 
Throughout the remainder of the e-mail, amidst quotes from Irish poet William Butler Yeats, Grayson asks voters to donate money to his campaign.
