Vice President Joe Biden will visit some of the country's most scenic spots next week.

Biden will tour the Yellowstone and Grand Canyon National Parks on Monday and Tuesday to survey Recovery Act projects, according to at statement Friday from the White House.

Biden's trip will take him to the Madison Junior Ranger Station at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming on Monday morning, where he'll deliver remarks joined by National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis. The station is located at more than 6,000 ft. in altitude, more than twice as high as Denver, Colo., so the air will feel noticeably thinner.

On Tuesday Biden will climb even further up in altitude, delivering a speech at Hopi Point on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona (shown here).

This overlook point is situated at 7,071 ft. above sea level, and is considered by many to offer the most sweeping views of the canyon and the Colorado River hundreds of feet below.
