Former Vice President Dick Cheney has postponed a scheduled Sept. 18 speech at the Atlantic City Hilton to continue recovering from a June heart attack.

The announcement was made Tuesday morning, and a later date was not immediately announced. A spokeswoman for the Atlantic City Hilton called the decision, "mutual, to allow [Cheney] ample time to heal."

The Hilton Atlantc City has hosted a handful of notable political speakers this year, including former President Bill Clinton. Last Saturday the hotel hosted what it called a "bout" between liberal commentator James Carville and conservative author and columnist Ann Coulter.

Cheney, 69, suffered what doctors called his fifth heart attack in late June. He spent six weeks at Inova Fairfax Hospital, before being released Aug. 9.
