Former Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore made a surprise appearance on NBC's hit comedy "30 Rock" on Thursday.

Gore played a environmentally aware janitor in the 20 second spot, an exchange with the character Kenneth, a naïve young page at the fictional TV show TGS.

Gore delivered his lines well. "There's an old African proverb ... that I made up," he deadpanned.

"It goes, 'If you want to go somewhere quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. We need to go far, quickly."

Gore then perked up at the sound of an imaginary voice. "Somewhere, a whale is in trouble!" he called out, before tearing off his jumpsuit and running off-screen.
