Rep. Michael McMahon (D-N.Y.) invited an ulikely guest to his debate Tuesday night against GOP challenger Michael Grimm: Grimm's ex-wife.

The Staten Island Advance reports that Susan Kim, formerly Susan Grimm, as well as members of her family attended the debate and were seated in reserved seats directly in front of Grimm's podium.

McMahon's staff explained to the paper that the Kims were longtime supporters.

Grimm was quoted saying that his former spouse "looked as beautiful as the day I met her," but he accused McMahon of attempting to "rattle" him.

No formal polls have been taken of the Staten Island district formerly occupied by Republican Rep. Vito Fossella, but McMahon has raised significantly more money in the cycle than Grimm.
