President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted more than 30,000 guests at the White House Monday for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn. The Obamas were joined by their daughters, Sasha and Malia, and first grandmother Marian Robinson.

In addition to the famed roll, there were dozens of activity stations for kids set up across the White House grounds. Yoga, tennis and basketball clinics with pro athletes were interspersed with healthy cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs Art Smith and Jacques Pepin. On a nearby stage, 'tween pop star Willow Smith performed.

The Obama daughters took turns reading "Where the Wild Things Are" out loud to a group of kids, while the president and first lady alternated parts on a rendition of the alphabet story “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.”

President Obama also took a turn on the basketball court, dribbling through cones and sinking a layup before moving over to the tennis courts, where he hit a few balls with young players. All told, the president participated in the festivities for nearly an hour.

The roll is the single largest event held at the White House each year, and Monday's number set a new record. The crowd was divided into five groups of 6,000 people each, and groups were cycled through the South Lawn at two-hour intervals.
