She might let viewers see some pretty private parts of her life as a cast member on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” but Caroline Manzo isn’t willing to let absolutely all of it hang out.
The reality star said Saturday that while table-flipping and backstabbing might be captured on the reality hit, there’s one thing she won’t touch on the show: politics. Manzo told ITK, “Some things are secret.” Yet the mom of three, who snagged a spot at the dinner as a guest of Fox News Channel, remarked that her viewing habits might hint at her political preferences, saying with a smile, “I love Fox News, if that’s any indication.” Manzo wasn’t the only famous face remaining coy before the Correspondents’ dinner. Sassy actress Sofia Vergara (who graciously agreed to pose for photos with virtually every guy in the room) also kept her red-painted lips sealed, saying, “Politics and religion are very personal.” When pressed about whether she was supporting a candidate in the presidential election, ABC’s “Modern Family” star replied with a thick Colombian accent, “I am, but I do not want to say!” But the entertainer, 39, then pointed out that she might not be able to cast a ballot this fall anyway, revealing, “I still cannot vote here!” before being pulled away by a handler.

Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) reassured Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday that it was okay she was photographed drinking beer in Colombia earlier this month.
"It's not always safe to drink the water but the beer is pasteurized," Mikulski noted. Mikulski also referred to President Obama's speech at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on Saturday, when he said Clinton "won't stop drunk-texting me from Cartagena." "Despite what the president said you were doing in Colombia, I know you were at your duty station," she said. Clinton and Mikulski were speaking at Fortune magazine's "Most Powerful Women" reception at the State Department Monday evening. The secretary of state also had warm words for Mikulski, noting she was the longest serving woman in Congress and added that "when I was in the Senate we called her the dean." Clinton had to excuse herself from the dinner following the reception, noting she was headed to the National Geographic building to host a dinner for the prime minister of Japan and then had to fly to China. Monday night's dinner was the first in the magazine's "Most Powerful Women Evening With..." series, which will take place in several cities across the country to celebrate women leaders. At the event, held in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the State Department, Fortune editor Nina Easton spoke with Google vice president Susan Molinari, former White House communications director Anita Dunn, and Obama adviser Samantha Power about women's roles in Washington.

President Obama isn’t in the doghouse with one major animal rights group for some canine-related jokes he made at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
During his remarks, Obama made several references to eating dog meat as a child with his stepfather in Indonesia, a story that he recounted in his book, Dreams From My Father. Mitt Romney staffers cited the Obama tale after the Republican presidential candidate was criticized for admitting that he transported his dog, Seamus, in a crate on the roof of his car during a 1983 road trip. At the dinner, Obama cracked about his upbringing, “That is pretty rough, but I cannot take it, because my stepfather always told me it is a boy-eat-dog world out there.” In another one-liner, the president said, “What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? A pit bull is delicious.” But People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals isn’t biting back at the president’s unappetizing words about man's best friend. In a statement to ITK, the organization wrote, “President Obama’s joke was obviously a play on Sarah Palin’s well-known hockey mom/pitt bull joke and isn’t indicative of his love for dogs as family members.”
