The 11th Annual Night of Hope Gala

The annual gala has raised over $11 million for Type 1 Diabetes research since 2000.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Capitol Chapter kicked off Diabetes Awareness Month with its 11th annual Night of Hope Gala Saturday evening at the National Building Museum.

The event brought out hundreds of Washingtonians involved in the cause, including Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), who was the Congressional Champion Award Honoree, Jack and Susanna Quinn, D.C. Councilman David Catania, gala chairs Richard and Lynne Lucas and Nancy Cordes of CBS News.

The event included a VIP reception, cocktails and silent auction and a seated dinner.
