The Women's National Democratic Club hosted a luncheon Tuesday afternoon for Andrea Smith's new book Newspaper Titan: The Infamous Life and Monumental Times of Cissy Patterson.

The lunch brought out many of D.C.'s historical famous faces, including Smith's mother, Jean Kennedy Smith,  who came out to support her daughter. Kennedy Smith's brother was former President John F. Kennedy.

Anna Fierst also attended. Fierst is FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt's great-granddaughter.

Smith read excerpts from her book, which many were surprised to learn that even at the turn of the century, there was plenty of excitement and drama to be had in Washington.

When recalling how Patterson used to write about her frenemies, Smith said it could very well be called "the beginning of what we call modern-day blogging."
