National School Boards Association's 39th Annual Federal Relations Network Conference

E-mail

The National School Boards Association finished its annual conference Tuesday, with multiple Congressional speakers on Monday.

The National School Boards Association held its 38th annual Federal Relations Network Conference Sunday through Tuesday at the Washington Hilton and Capitol Hill.

Monday marked many talks from members of Congress, including Reps. Judy Biggert (R-Ill.), Glenn Thompson (R-Pa.), Rush Holt (D-N.J.), Phil Roe (R-Tenn.) and Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.).

Those in attendance learned plenty of interesting facts about the representatives, who are all heavily interested in education. For example, Holt was a five-time game show winner for Jeopardy! and Roe, a doctor, has delivered 5,000 babies in his career, including an individual sitting in the audience.

The members stressed the importance of education in our national agenda.
