Republican presidential hopeful and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R)

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was the keynote speaker at a Northern Virginia Technology Council and Consumer Electronics Association breakfast Friday morning at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, Va.

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell attended the breakfast, giving remarks as well. He stressed the importance of small business and taking away the hassle of bureaucracy. "We need a good workforce development program in Virginia," he said. McDonnell also mentioned that Virginia ranks the most business friendly state in D.C.

Romney talked innovation in his speech. "People by nature are innovative," he said.

"I'm a big believer in the power of incentives," he added. Romney also reiterated that he was in the presidential race in order to get our country back on track.

"I'm remaining optimistic," he said. "I'm willing to call on the American people because I believe they can accomplish greatness."
