The Daily Caller party

E-mail

The Daily Caller celebrated its successful launch on Tuesday with a blow-out party at the Kalorama house of Juleanna Glover, sister of The Daily Caller's media strategist Becca Glover Watkins.

More than 200 guests spilled over two floors, a terrace and an outdoor tent, all moving easily from one conversation to another, as journalists are wont to do. Despite the capacity-crowd, Daily Caller founders Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel held court in the front hall for much of the night, while a hip-looking crowd of young reporters hung out on cozy sofas in the basement. Everyone else weaved through the fun.

The biggest surprise of the night was I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, who stayed for more than an hour.

In the crowd: CNN's Amy Holmes, The Daily Caller's Megan Mulligan, Politico's Patrick Gavin and Kiki Ryan, publicist Janet Donovan, Washington Life's Kevin Chaffee, David Bass, Marco Vicenzino, The Washington Times' Eli Lake, CBS's Christine Delargy, Main Justice's Kenny Day, The New Republic's James Kirchick, Pepper Watkins of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Wiley Rein's Howard Anglin, The Stogie Guys' Patrick Semmens, U.S. Trade Representative's Christina Sevilla, Renaud de Viel Castel, the Competitive Enterprise Institute's John Berlau, Graham O'Donoghue, and The Washington Examiner's Tara Palmieri.
