Hostesses Alexe Nowakowski, Elizabeth Thorp, Bridie Clark, Susanna Quinn and Katherine Kennedy

Vanity Fair's Bridie Clark was at Ginger Boutique in Bethesda Thursday evening for the launch of her new book "The Overnight Socialite." The event was sponsored by Barbara Martin and Jayne Sandman of Fingerprint DC. Blonde Charity Mafia's Katherine Kennedy, Susanna Quinn, wife of lobbyist Jack Quinn and Elizabeth Thorp as well as Alexe Nowakowski served as hostesses for the evening. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were served, compliments of Redwood restaurant and Fancy Cakes by Leslie.

Clark, who lives in New York, graduated from Harvard in 1999 and has since worked as a book and magazine editor for The New York Times, Vanity Fair and Elegant Bride among others. Her first novel, Because She Can,  was published in February 2007.

"D.C. and New York are similar in so many ways," Clark said. "They're both concentrated power bases."

Clark said she wrote the book because she was interested in socialites who feel motivated to go out as much as they do. "It seems to take so much to go out every night or entertain in your own home," she said.

Clark, who is expecting her second child, recently moved out of New York City with her husband. "We always talk about moving to D.C. though," she said. "It seems so neighborly and friendly while being urban at the same time."
