The Daily Caller State of the Union watching party

E-mail

Guests at the Daily Caller party watch the State of the Union address.

The newest political news website on the scene, The Daily Caller, held a State of the Union watching party Wednesday night at George, the Prospect Street tavern founded by Late Night Shots CEO Reed Landry and Hunter Campbell.

The crowd was young and attractive, and they enjoyed the open bar and State of the Union drinking games, e.g. "every time the audience stands up, but the Supreme Court justices don't, take a sip." There was even an announcer who provided commentary throughout the address.

The crowd leaned to the right, evidenced by the lopsided number of boos to cheers during the president's hour-long speech, but the mood was festive.

Daily Caller scribes live-blogged Obama's address from a corner of the one-storey bar, a crew from German Public Television moved through the room.
