With the blizzard of 2010 dumping between 12 and 18 inches of snow on the Washington, D.C. region and forcasters expecting another 5 to 8 inches today most parties and events are being postponed or cancelled.

SUNDAY
Feb. 7, 2010

• Love, Lust and Lingerie: Q&A with Washington socialite Andrea Rogers and other authors has been postponed to February 14, 2010. http://sylene.eventbrite.com

The National Cathedral: All services and events on Sunday are also cancelled, except for 11:15 am Holy Eucharist. http://www.nationalcathedral.org/

•  Sixth & I Synagogue: Due to the snow, all services and events this weekend have been cancelled.

Alvin Ailey performance at 1:30 p.m. will go on as scheduled. Shear Madness: Sunday, Feb. 7 at 3 p.m.

Attention ticketholders to the Alvin Ailey performance:
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater: Sunday, Feb. 7 at 1:30 p.m.
Your performance will go on as scheduled.
If you are unable to attend this performance due to weather conditions, you have the following options:
1) Donate - The face value of your ticket(s) can be donated to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. All donations will be acknowledged with a written receipt.
2) Exchange - The face value of your ticket(s) can be exchanged for a Kennedy Center gift certificate good toward most future performances at the Kennedy Center, valid for one year from the issue date.
To process your exchange or donation, please send your tickets through one of the indicated methods below. Please print and fill in the form below to indicate your choice.
1) Fax - Cut your ticket(s) in half and fax a copy with the form to (202) 416-8545.

Attention ticketholders to these performances:
Shear Madness: Sunday, Feb. 7 at 3 p.m.
Shear Madness: Sunday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
Your performance has been cancelled.

Ticketholders to these performances will be given coupons (one per ticket) good for a future Shear Madness performance, valid for one year from the issue date.

• Ford’s Theatre has cancelled today's performance at 2:30 p.m. Patrons have the option of exchanging their tickets into another performance of "The Rivalry" or "Little Shop of Horrors." Patrons who are unable to exchange may donate the value of their tickets to Ford’s Theatre or request a refund.

"The Rivalry" runs through February 14, including a just-added performance at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 14.

Ticketmaster (online or by phone) buyers should call (202) 397-SEAT.
Ticketmaster outlets (Macy’s, etc) buyers should return to the outlet.
Ford’s Theatre buyers should contact (202) 347-4833 (please leave a message if you are unable to speak directly to a customer service representative).

All exchanges and refunds must be requested prior to February 11th.

• The Jete Society has postponed its event at the House of Sweden scheduled for Saturday, 02/06 to April 23, 2010. http://washingtonballet.org/contribute/membership/jete-society.htm

• Jeri Sager: Cabaret Series at Wolf Trap has been rescheduled for March 20, 2010. http://www.wolf-trap.org/

• Wild Side Stage at the National Zoo. http://dc.about.com/b/2010/01/05/national-zoos-wild-side-stage-performance-series-for-children.htm> - performance rescheduled for Sunday, March 14.

Smithsonian Black History Month Family Day Celebration cancelled due to snowstorm. The Smithsonian 

• Ford's Theatre has cancelled Friday and Saturday performances of The Rivalry. Ford’s Theatre National Historic Site will be closed on Saturday

• Saturday's Black and White Ball at the Women's Club of Chevy Chase has been cancelled, and organizers have not yet decided if there will be a make-up date.

• Chinese New Year Festival at the National Geographic Museum has been cancelled.

• The National Cathedral is closed on Saturday.

•  Sixth & I Synagogue: Due to the snow, all services and events this weekend have been cancelled. Feel free to welcome the Sabbath bride in your own home; Saturday morning services with Temple Beth Emet are cancelled.

• The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts performances scheduled for Friday and Saturday will be cancelled. Public tours of the memorial will also be cancelled.

• Saturday's performances of "Antony and Cleopatra" at Lansburgh Theatre has been cancelled

• The Capitol Steps show at the Ronald Reagan Building has been cancelled

• Due to the local weather emergency, the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center is closed to the public all day on Saturday, February 6. There will be no tours of the U.S. Capitol offered during this time.

• The Lady Who Swings the Band: The Mary Lou Williams Centennial Celebration at the
National Museum of Natural History - Smithsonian Institution has been cancelled

• The Phillips Collection will be closed today

• The Chocolate Lovers Festival Old Town Fairfax has been postponed.  New date undecided at this time.
