The Shakespeare Theatre Company presented Will on the Hill 2010 on Monday night to grand applause and rave reviews! Members of Congress, Senators and Washington powerhouses joined veteran actors Peter Jacobson and Holly Twyford on stage in the production, The Play’s the Thing! written by Peter Byrne and directed by David Muse.  The clever plot follows the President’s advisors as they attempt to find inspiration in Shakespeare’s work to complete the preparation for the State of the Union address.

Event co-chairs, Nick Allard and Jim Portnoy,  announced that the sold out evening exceeded their fund raising goal to the benefit of the theatre’s outreach and education programs.  As audience and cast members mingled at the post show dinner, it was clear that acting comes naturally to all of those who took to the stage in service to a great cause and for a chance to be in the spotlight.

Participants of the performance included: Gina Adams, FedEx, Maria Allard, Rep. Brian Baird (D-Wash.), Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-Nev.), Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa), Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.), Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.), Matt Frei, BBC America, Dr. Natwar Gandi, DC CFO, Major Garrett, Fox New Channel, Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), Hugo Gurdon, The Hill, Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr (D-Ill.), Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.), Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.), Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.), Rep. Mike McIntyre (D-N.C), Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine), Rep.
