Global Women Leaders Mentoring Partnership evening at the State Department

Dozens of powerful women joined females from developing countries as part of the Global Women Leaders Mentoring Partnership, a program launched by Fortune and the U.S. State Department in 2006, Wednesday evening at the State Department.

The attendee list was impressive, drawing out U.S. Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Dianne Fenstein (D-Calif.), Rep. Melissa Bean (D-Ill.), Brunswick Group Managing Partner Hilary Rosen, NBC's Norah O'Donnell, TIME Executive Editor Nancy Gibbs and others.

117 women from 43 developing countries have gone through the program since 2006.
